The first ever Harvest Day Tractor Parade will kick-off the 34th Annual Harvest Day Festival in downtown Inman beginning at 9 am. Though these cute little fellows aren’t old enough to drive them, their daddies, uncles, and grandpas are. Come out and celebrate the opening of the fall season in downtown Inman with Harvest Day.
Event Date: Saturday September 26, 2015
Time: 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm
This is the *Launch* date of the Geocoin Trail. The Geocoin Trail can be completed at any time after the launch, and will remain active even after all of the geocoins have been claimed.
While the event officially begins at 2:00 pm, cachers can get an early start, as we will be manning the area when the trail caches are published at around 8:00 am! (Feel free to bring us coffee and/or doughnuts!) The trail consists of caches around the area of Inman, South Carolina.
Inman is a small, enterprising community located in the Upstate of South Carolina where the living is the finest to be found. The City of Inman is gifted with a unique layout that merges both business and residential community in a way that is unique in this age of urban spread. The historic section of the city hosts its established businesses that are reminiscent of a time when cities actually had a comfortable, serene ‘main street’ atmosphere. In many respects, the historic area of the City of Inman reminds one of Thornton Wilder’s “Our Town”.
Come explore “Our Town,” and you can receive your very own unactivated geocoin! At the posted coordinates, come inside the Inman Elementary School, where you will be able to pick up your Greater Inman Geotrail Passport, and get started on your journey! We will have folks on-hand to help explain the series, offer tips and explain geocaching to the uninformed. Each cache will have a specific square on the Grid page for you to enter information found within each cache along the trail.
Upon completion of the required number of caches on the trail, you can submit your completed Passport with the appropriate squares filled in to the various location(s) located on the back of your passport.
