First Annual Harvest Day Challenge Run

HD run logoFirst Annual Harvest Day Challenge Run

The Greater Inman Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the FIRST ANNUAL HARVEST DAY CHALLENGE RUN on Saturday, September 26, 2015 beginning at 8 AM. This is being held in conjunction with the annual Harvest Day Festival in downtown Inman, South Carolina.

The challenge run of approximately 3.1 miles is along a large portion of the Inman link of the PALMETTO TRAIL. It will begin in the lower rear parking lot of Chapman High School near the football stadium, which is the lowest point in elevation of the race. After gradually climbing through open fields on a country road, the route abruptly climbs 145 feet in elevation to ascend Windmill Hill, the third highest point in Spartanburg County at 1,171 feet above sea level. The peak marks the half-way point along the route and offers panoramic views of the Appalachian Mountains and downtown Spartanburg before the 183 foot descent in elevation back to the finish line. The total gain ascent of this course is 226 feet.

Magnolia Manor to Celebrate 50th Anniversary

It is wonderful when a business celebrates an anniversary. The Inman community should be proud that Magnolia Manor of Inman will be celebrating their 50th anniversary. If you grew up in Inman, you probably had a family member or friend who resided there.

On May 15th starting at 12 pm, Magnolia Manor will be hosting a celebration in honor of their 50th Anniversary. The mayor will be in attendance to speak, along with music, entertainment and food catered by Dickey’s BBQ. This is open to the community and the residents and families of Magnolia Manor.

On Tuesday, May 19, Magnolia Manor will host the Greater Inman Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business Open House.

Support your local businesses by participating in the celebration. Both events are open to the public.

1st Annual Opening of the Inman Trail Season

The FIRST ANNUAL OPENING OF THE INMAN TRAIL SEASON was April 21, 2015 at the Leroy Mathis Park on North Main Street in Inman, SC. Hosted by The Greater Inman Area Chamber of Commerce’s Active Living Committee, exhibitors were available to answer questions and encourage active living.

It was a wonderful evening in the neighborhood park where attendees milled around and spoke with the exhibitors, children were on the playground equipment, folks were playing pickleball, and there was strolling music from a concertina.

Along with receiving information on healthy, active living from exhibitors, the official map of the Inman Trail and its links was made available to the public. The Inman Trail is a closed loop sidewalk that can be safely used around town. Along with that are links to other locations. This is an opportunity to walk around town, be out in the fresh air, and get exercise.

Opening Day of the Inman Trail
